Our hotel was situated in a charming little town with plenty of local character. We enjoyed our spacious room and the comfortable bed. the bathroom was clean and modern.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, The room was traditional and very clean. It was walking distance to the little town of Kettwig, I found a fab pizzeria on the corner of the street. I had a small pizza, a generous slice of a beautiful Tiramasu, a large wine, a coffee ....all for 11E 50 and a free shot on the house from the friendly staff. The town itself is very quaint and I even managed to get a Traditional Thai Massage for 20E which relieved the sore back from all the driving. Fab stay.
I love my brews being British and there was not a kettle in the room. That was my only downside.

+ nice and friendly staff; + only 10 minute drive to Messe Essen; + only 10 minute walk to rather small but unique historical town center; + in the Ruhrgebiet but lots of forests nearby; + private (free) parking space behind hotel; + rooms small but complete
- Check-in time not before 17:00; - expensive internet; - noisy ventilator in bathroom (when light in bathroom is on)

This hotel is conveniently located close to everything you need for your trip. the room and bathroom are comfortable and spacious, with lovely decor. the staff goes above and beyond to assist you, and the breakfast is a good start to your day. the hotel facilities are modern and well-maintained and the view from the room is gorgeous.
One minor issue - the local restaurants did not offer much variety for dining.

We loved the cleanliness, hotel facilities and breakfast. Also, the staff was very friendly and the location was close to transportation and everything in the city centre.
Nothing at all.

We received a very warm welcome by the staff and they did all they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The location of the hotel in Essen-Kettwig is excellent as it is situated in a very clean, historic town with wonderful places to walk and bike. It has parking in the back for your car. Their breakfast menu in the dining room was very complete and substantial. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to stay in a quiet, historic area in a very well appointed hotel with excellent staff.

Could have used a few more amenities - iron, ironing board, water, pen & paper in room.

The hotel offered a really comfortable and clean room, perfect for a romantic escape. The location was great, with easy access to transportation and local shops. the staff was friendly and helpful, giving us great suggestions for places to eat in the area.
Despite the comfortable room and great location, there were a few negative aspects to our stay. The WIFI was not very strong, making it difficult to stay connected during our stay.
